‘Tis the season for parties! Whether it be for work or family, it seems like everyone attends a Christmas party of some sorts. Personally, I sometimes struggle with finding an appropriate and festive outfit for all the holiday festivities. Anyone else in a similar boat? I wanted to share 4 outfit ideas for anyone who may be wondering what to wear for an office party, family gathering, etc. I chose basic pieces of clothing that most people likely have in their closets and stuck with a holiday colour theme.
First up: 2 options for a casual family dinner or casual office party. Outfit 1 is a little fancier while still being casual enough to wear during the day and not feel over dressed. I’d wear something like this to my mom’s house for dinner.
The second outfit is definitely more casual but still put together. The sweater is graphic and interesting but still feels festive because of the colours. Since the sweater is busy looking I opted for no necklace but would wear earrings instead. Because there is no necklace I’d wear this outfit to my in-law’s for dinner, where they have 3 dogs that get suuuuper excited to see us!
Outfits 3 and 4 would be best suited for a dressier office party or even church event. I’d wear the plaid skirt outfit to the Library for the annual Christmas Carol sing, or even to a Christmas Eve service at church. The skirt feels festive because of the print while the sparkly necklace gives it a little something special.
The final outfit is one I’d wear to David’s work party, held in an upscale night club. I feel like red would be an expected Christmas dress colour, but why not white? White is still wintery, because of snow, but pairing it with red and black adds a festive feel to an otherwise summery dress.
David’s work party is on Friday, but I won’t be wearing any of the outfits I showed you today. That will be a surprise revealed in a later post:) Are you going to any holiday parties this year? Tell me about it below!
