kitchen inspiration

I’ve been a little under the weather for the past few days but I’m hoping to keep up with my daily posts this week anyways..except for the lack of post yesterday, oops!

So far April has been a great month weather wise.  The temps have been warmer, the snow is melting and I discovered my outdoor thyme bush survived the winter.  I’ve been spending a lot of time planning a to do list of spring projects around the house and I hope to get started on that soon, weather permitting!  The project I’d most like to do is a kitchen update, but I’m not sure if that’s practical or not yet.  Our kitchen isn’t terrible, but it could be a lot better.

The cabinets are in good shape and the layout works well for us.  There’s also a decent amount of storage since we have a pantry downstairs to store extra baking dishes and dry goods.

But there are changes I’d like to eventually make…the layout and size are things that can’t be altered at this point in time but here is what I’d like to do:

  • paint cabinets
  • replace backsplash
  • replace counters
  • get new cabinet hardware
  • install cork flooring
  • add a vent hood for the stove
  • get a new fridge that looks vintage
  • replace sink and faucet
Yeeeeah, it’s kid of a long list.  But all doable and relatively inexpensive (except the fridge!).  Of course, I took to Pinterest to search for some inspiration and have included some of my favorite images here.  For sources, please see my inspiration board.
this is sort of the look I’m going for

this hammered copper sink is so unique

seeing this tutorial made me really want butcher block counters

the PERFECT back splash tile

I’m seriously loving these baskets in place of drawers

silver ware handles! sooo cute

this is such a clever idea for baking substitutions

cork floors would be so comfy underfoot

a super clever storage spot for counter top appliances
how cool is this fridge?!

Are there any remodels or spring projects in your future?  I’d love to hear about it, so comment below.
