By the time you read this post, I’ll be in Paris, France with my mom! I’ve scheduled content to be automatically published during my trip but may not respond to comments right away.
The heat of summer often means shorter hemlines and revealing tops for a lot of women. They think less clothing means they will keep cooler, which I suppose may be true for some, but keeping skin MORE covered actually keeps me cool! The fabric covering me keeps the sun off my skin so I’m not feeling the heat directly, and it also prevents sun damage. Today I’m sharing some outfits from Pinterest that I’ve been loving and hoping to recreate.
Lately I’ve been liking the look of muted florals, light layers, lace, and “old fashioned” styles. I’m hoping to wear more classic dresses, find nicer gardening clothes, and refine my casual wear.
I love the simplicity of this skirt, and how the lace adds a bit of something special. This would be perfect for casual days at home (not in the garden!) or for going out.
How have I not worn an outfit like this before?! It’s feminine, simple and yet looks so put together. I’d wear this to church or out with friends.
Simple, soft, skirts are what I see myself wearing all day, every day this summer. I could easily garden in this or dress it up with a nice cardigan and sandals for going out.
We are planning to go to some outdoor concerts this summer, and since they are at night when it is a little cooler, I can see myself wearing an outfit like this one. It’s simple, cute, and modest, which means it’s a winner in my books! I wouldn’t wear a dress that short, but I’m planning to make some tunic style tops similar to this, which would be great over leggings or jeans and aa sweater on top.
I was drawn to this image for some strange reason but i think I finally figure out why! The woman in the photo has medium length brown curly hair, is riding a bike, and wearing a classic dress…all things I like! I’d like to have this simple, yet classy sense of style. Her dress looks cotton which makes it perfect for a plethora of summer occasions.
Here’s another example of a classic dress that is suuuuper simple, but look awesome layered with a cardigan. This is an outfit I would want to wear to a BBQ that goes late into the evening.
When I garden I usually wear a combination of old garments that might not match and certainly don’t look very nice. I’d rather dress in something like this, though. The apron is worn over any item of clothing to keep it protected, which means I can wear whatever I want.
What styles are you liking this summer?
