No Pants November outfit 3

BRRR. It is freezing here!!  It snowed on Saturday so I planned to take some awesome snowy pictures of this outfit but by the time I got home from work it had all melted.

This is outfit #3 in the #NoPantsNovember challenge and I wore it to work at the library.  I could have paired this skirt with a black top, or even a red one.  But I chose stripes because that’s how I roll.  It’s a little unexpected, a little fun and totally me.  I’ve been experimenting with pattern mixing lately and I really enjoy it.

I’ve been looking for a longer plaid skirt for months but everything I see in stores is usually a miniskirt.  There are some nice options online but I prefer to see skirts in person and try them on (since I wear skirts high on my natural waist I need to ensure they don’t dig in or aren’t too loose).  A new thrift store opened up in town several months ago and I’ve scored some awesome pieces from there, including this skirt.  I think I paid $8 for it and it appears to be hand made.  The wool is really thick and well sewn and it is lined.  I like the length , the pleats and the uneven hem.

Please excuse the poor quality of photos…it was very cold and windy out and I had very little time to shoot before I had to change and go to my other job.  David was out getting firewood so he couldn’t even take photos for me.  Oh well. You can still see the details of my outfit:)

I’d love some company for this #NoPantsNovember Challenge!  Not sure what it is?  Click here for the rules!  If you decide to participate feel free to link your blog post in the comments.  No blog?  Never fear, you can still join in by using the hashtag #NoPantsNovember on Twitter and Facebook.  I can’t wait to see what outfits you come up with!
