outfit ideas for fall (from Our Wood Home)

It’s September, which means I am mentally dressing myself in cozy knits, lots of layers and woolly socks (even if the weather is actually mild for fall!). Last November I challenged myself to only wear skirts and dresses for the entire month, which turned out to be an interesting ordeal.  Although, since then I have found that pants are really uncomfortable and ill fitting on me, so I’ve been wearing skirts and dresses almost exclusively.  I found some awesome pieces that work really well together, so I’m sharing my best fall outfits all in one neat little place…this post! Hopefully it will inspire you to see your own clothes in a new way.

Rust coloured skirt; black tee; light knit cardigan

Red striped dress; black sweater

Striped top; teal maxi skirt; knit scarf

fallmaxiskirt (1)

Printed tunic; burgundy leggings

dress: H&M but bought at a thrift store pants: RW&Co belt: H&M boots: Soft Mocc

Orange printed dress; beige cardigan; knit scarf

Printed dress; coloured tights

As you can see, I love belting my clothes!  To me, it makes me the outfit seem more polished.  I know belting isn’t for everyone but I highly recommend trying it, then taking a photo of yourself to see how it looks.  Alternatively, seek the advice of a trusted friend or family member.

Are there any fall trend you’d like to try this year?
