Good morning, friends! Last week I mentioned I was taking a little vacation from blogging, which is starting today. I need to reevaluate my priorities, adjust my daily/weekly schedule now that David is on summer break from school, determine what sort of content I want to be sharing with you, and more. To say I’m going to be busy in an understatement! I suppose I could still blog through the business, but I don’t want to post sub par quality content here.
I promise you I will be returning in a few weeks, but I’m going to be posting frequently on social media. In fact, this weekend I’m checking off some projects from my to do list, and will be posting updates on Facebook! If you like modest fashion, you can join my Modest Young Women private Facebook group (details here); I will be sharing my outfits there for the next dew weeks.
There are some new readers to Our Wood Home (thank you!), so I encourage those people, or any of you, to take a look around at past posts and some of my favourites listed below.
- Making a short dress more modest
- Having a modest lifestyle in a modern world
- Why I wear skirts almost all the time
- Favourite outfits of 2015
- Date night activity jar
- Lilla Rose Flexi review
- What we keep in a “real food” fridge
At the start of 2016 I decided I needed to have a better focus for my blog. Previously I had been sharing a little bit of everything, which was fine, but I felt like it wasn’t too clear what my vision was for Our Wood Home. After a lot of thinking, I settled on fashion and homemaking. I have always enjoyed clothes, and my passion for modest, yet stylish dressing has grown over the last couple years. Devoting a large portion of my posts to modest fashion in all aspects (my outfits, inspirations, tips, DIYs, etc) was a no brainer! I know it sounds silly, but I believe this is part of my mission, why God has blessed me with the opportunity to continue blogging and reaching women.
My other passion is homemaking! I LOVE having the responsibility of keeping my home, and I want other young ladies to feel the same way I do. My hope for the homemaking posts I write is that they will be an encouragement for women to realize their God-give role as homemaker.
So, that’s why I talk mostly about clothes and homemaking. I hope you will take some time to get to know me through my past posts over this little break. Talk to you soon!
