Thankful Thursday

It is with shame I admit I haven’t done a Thankful Thursday post in 2 weeks.  It’s not that I’ve been at a loss for what to write, it’s that I haven’t had the time to sit down and type out a blog post.  I sometimes write a post in advance and schedule it to go live on another date.  But that’s not possible with the TT posts because they are reflective of the week thus far.  Maybe I’ll post a quick TT note on twitter (#OWHThankfulThursday) each week in addition to the blog posts.

This song has been on my mind today, which is appropriate since I take the song to be about thanking God for all he does in our lives.

What I’m thankful for:

  1. This warm weather! I’ve been feeling blah for far too long and I think the weather is partially to blame.  All that snow, slush and cold can do a number on a person.  But this week has been nice and warm so far! I’ve even been able to wear my long dresses without tights!
  2. Having Saturday off work.  David and I have been slowly chipping away at some small reno projects but we haven’t had time to complete them.  Saturday off means we will have a whole day to work on our basement bathroom!
  3. My vision is still 20/20.  Just over 4 years ago I had laser eye surgery so I wouldn’t have to wear glasses anymore (last year I wrote a little about it here), and every year for the rest of my life I will get an eye exam from my doctor.  This ensures my vision stays perfect and allows me free touch up surgeries should it decline.  My eye doctor said my eyes look perfect, my vision is perfect and I am the perfect example of a successful surgery.
  4. I was able to visit with my dad and brother this week.  Since I moved out of my mom’s home I obviously don’t see my family much anymore, especially now that my youngest brother and dad live over an hour away from me.  My eye doctor is in the same town they live so I was able to have breakfast with my dad and a quick visit with my brother (he is moving into his own apartment soon! Where did the time go?!).

What are you thankful for this week?
