Thankful Thursday week 7

thankfulthursday

How has your week been so far?  Mine has been okay, but could have been better.  I had a couple days off work and got some cleaning and reorganizing done at home, so that was good.  I also baked a lot of goodies.  But yesterday I stepped on an old carpet staple leftover from my stair makeover.  It punctured the bottom of my heel and hurt so badly!!  Then I thought I worked later than I did so I had to rush to get ready but work went well.  Today I woke up with a headache, but you know what?  All my problems really aren’t that big of a deal.  Sometimes though it is easy to get hung up on the negatives and what go wrong but each of us has so much to be thankful for!  Today is a great day for me to writing my list since I could use a quick reminder…so today I’m thankful:

  1. for being able to have my new blog designed and running so quickly.  It’s still a work in progress and I’m sure I’ll be making changes for a while but I’m very proud of what I’ve accomplished already.
  2. that I have the whole weekend off, including Friday!
  3. for good news in my family.  One of my cousins and  her husband bought a house, another cousin is expecting her third baby and another cousin has a great job.
  4. my brother will finally be getting a dog in January. He used to have a Golden Retriever but the poor dog had such severe epilepsy that he was put down after fighting it for years. My brother was obviously upset because he loved the dog very much but the timing (and cost) of a new dog was something that my family couldn’t deal with until now.  My brother has some undiagnosed health issues that prevent him from driving and being as active as he used to be so I’m hoping having a dog to care for will give him back his sense of freedom and provide some joy.  After all, my brother is only 22 years old and being told he can’t drive a car or go snowboarding anymore is tough!

What are you thankful for this week?  Let me know in the comments below.

  1. Oh, I’m happy for your brother! They do say dogs are a man’s best friend! (although I do love cats…)
I’m thankful that I was able to get a lot done this week- it’s been really busy, but accomplishing.
    Blessings,
    Grace

    • I am also a cat lover! Sometimes busy is good, although at the time it can feel overwhelming it is very rewarding to see all we’ve accomplished.
