Hello on a rainy and cold Friday. Here are the outfits I wore this week, but first I am sharing two photos from a couple weeks ago that somehow missed being posted earlier.
I wore this cozy white sweater with a newish (but thrifted) wool maxi skirt. I find the length a bit awkward but I’m not willing to shorten it, since I prefer as much skirt length as possible for winter!
This is a casual outfit for chores at such at home. Remember last week I talked about my dislike and discomfort at wearing leggings and tunics? Well this outfit features both of those things, but I was much more comfortable in it. The hem of the dress hits just above my knees, which is a tad too short for bare legs, but with leggings, it is passable.
And now for some outfits from this past week.
First up is this outfit for church. Since the weather was not bitterly cold, I was able to wear a shorter skirt, and went with some fun colours because I am getting tired of all the dark ones I have been wearing lately. This is David’s favourite skirt, so he was happy to see it resurface! I went with a cardigan in a similar hue as the skirt, which worked well.
On Monday I went thrift shopping with my mom, and wore my new Minnie Mouse shirt from my trip to Disney. One of my tips for thrift shopping is to wear clothes that are easy to change out of, for ease of trying things on (if there is an interest, I can share a whole post of thrift tips!).
This cardigan and skirt were two of my thrift finds, and even though I had no plan to wear them together at the time of purchase, I decided they went well when assembling this outfit. I look forward to wearing this skirt in the spring with a tee shirt and my denim jacket! The sleeveless cardigan is something I plan to layer a lot next winter, since it is a heavy knit that might be too warm for spring.
In keeping with my pledge to myself last week about only wearing outfits I am comfortable in, I think I was successful! Starting in April I am running another challenge in my Modest Young Women Facebook group (you are welcome to join if you are between the ages of 18-40), so hopefully that will motivate me to post more photos! You are welcome to do the challenge along with me, and share your pictures on social media using the tag #MYWAprilFashionChallenge
