After a very mild weekend, we were hit with a snow storm and very cold temps again.  But, that’s what happens in Canada!  Hopefully we have a long spring/summer season this year to make up for the cold weather.

Here’s what I wore this week.  First up is the outfit I wore to church.  Since it was mild outside I felt comfortable wearing a shorter skirt.

My hair is at a weird length now and it can be very uncooperative, so I used a few well placed bobby pins and a Lilla Rose Flexi Clip (copper rose is the name of this one) to keep it under control.  You can’t really tell from the angle of this photo, but I gathered the back of my hair into a small ponytail and used the clip over top of a hair elastic.

Next is an outfit I wore for some errands. Comfort was key here, so I chose some of my go-to pieces but added a thin black belt over the printed top for something extra.  I also wore my Blundstone boots.

This next outfit is a bit different from what I usually wear, and I’m not entirely sure I like it.  The dress is one I wore earlier in the year but the pants haven’t been worn in quite some time.  I donned them this day for a fashion challenge I’m participating in on another blog but I can’t say I’ll be wearing this outfit again. I think it looks okay but I wasn’t comfortable.  Oh well! No harm, no foul.

I wore this black lace dress for the above noted challenge and am really into this look!  Usually I wear the dress with a sweater over top so it looks like a skirt but I decided to leave it as a dress but wear a long sleeved top underneath and a cardigan over top. The outfit seemed a little boring so I added a fun scarf.

Normally I wear my riding boots with this dress since it isn’t quite ankle length, but I decided to wear my  Blundstone booties instead for an “edgier” look.  I like the result and my feet were far more comfortable and warm!

I was dealing with second day hair on this day so I decided to gather my bangs and twist them back towards the crown of my head. Then I secured the roll with strategically placed pins and topped it with the same clip I used earlier in the week.

As much as I like layering, I’ll be very happy when I only need one layer instead of my usual two or three!

  1. I have a dress in the same lace as your long black one, only it’s a tea length dress instead. Love all of your outfits ! When you are using bobby pins for a little twist ect on your hair a fun thing to try is pushing them to hold in the opposite direction that your hair is going. It makes them “disappear”. Kate from Small Things Blog taught me how to do this. Here is that link http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com/2014/06/bobby-pin-basics .
She uses it one her braid but I use it for little twists.
Thanks for linking up to Wearing with Wisdom ! Hope you have a great rest of your week :)
